The Snakes Session

It was a few months ago that I wrote a song for Snakes On A Plane. It was just today that I finally recorded it with a friend.

Here’s a suitably musician-y picture of Scott and I during the recording session at his studio/house today:

recording session

He teaches at the school where I work and plays publicly in places around town. He does mostly Dylan and Guthrie and blues stuff, and was more than willing to aid me in this endeavor.

I am not entirely pleased with the way my singing turned out, but it is what it is.

So! If you’re interested, here you go.

So who on the planet couldn't love "Dust in the Wind" for a tune, righto!! The lyrics are funny & clever, & if you guys re-record it, I think you should have a little fun with it, loosen up a little. Maybe have a shot of tequila before you get started, eh? ;oP

But you sound good — on tone & in beat & all that good jive. Forgot to make that point clear. :o)

How much do I love that you wore the shirt to record the song? I love that a LOT.
And the song is awesome cool. If I was still podcasting, you would be so podcast'd.
    *GLOMPHUG*

Danna – there will be no tequila shots! Are you trying to kill my poor mother?! :) I agree, though, that I could be a bit more loosened up. If we'd done 5 or 6 more takes, I would have gotten there I think.

HP – I figured wearing the shirt might get me in the right frame of mind :)

    Glad you both liked it!

  5. D says:

HAH!! Noooo killing of mothers! I was kidding, kidding — completely kidding. *cheshire grin*

Is there a hidden meaning to the words? (I'm old). And if not, I fly fairly often and I don't care for it anyway and now I will really not care for it.
A pet peeve of mine – the improper use of "I". When in doubt, use the noun by itself and you will find that "me" works better.
Sorry – I think I'm a bit wired at the moment.

Now I really know I don't know you!
Especially after that comment from that wew person!

  8. […] week ago I took a sort-of electric guitar lesson from a friend of mine. It was more of a “how it works” than a “how you play it” kind of thing. […]
